Wedding Dress Spot Light

via

Happy Thursday! I’m super excited to debut a new blog feature here at the Alyssa Hoffman Events blog- wedding dresses!! The dress can set the tone for your whole wedding so it’s no surprise that it’s one of the first things brides go after.

The first dress I decided to feature is the stunner you got a peek of at our fall-inspired shoot. It’s one of those dresses that none of us were so sure about on the hanger but once our model put it on we all knew it was perfect.

It’s from the Blush by Hayley Page line and described as, “White strapless fit to flare brocade bridal gown with peplum tier at join line, beaded trim at natural waist and chapel train.”

I would describe it as a versatile dress that pairs well with an art deco inspired wedding or as we did, a fall wedding. I love the color palette we paired with it.

The brocade texture of the dress pairs well with the richnavy, burgundy, orange and green in the linens and florals but really softens the look so it doesn’t have too much of a heavy feeling.

What do you think? Would you wear this dress?

Fall Inspired Wedding Photo Shoot

Here’s a little sneak peek into a fall-themed shoot we did recently. We started out shooting in Meghan Klein’s gorgeous space in downtown Seattle (right in the heart of Pioneer Square!) Alyssa came up with the original concept and brought Bash & Bloom in to complete her vision with florals. The bouquet that Eleanor from Bash & Bloom came up with is amazing! It was super loose, and organic, it completed the look perfectly.

To give the shoot a fall feel, Alyssa decided on deep blue linens which complemented the rich hues of the flowers beautifully. How fun are the colored linens?! Meghan took a ton of photos – we can’t wait to see the detail shots. She was balancing on chairs, ladders, fire escapes – wherever she needed to get the perfect shot.

Our “bride” was gorgeous, the dress was simple brocade with kind of a peplum look and an art-deco detail at the waist. The grasses and flowers Eleanor used coupled with the linens and the brocade definitely gave it a fall feel all of us were ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the whole look.

My favorite picture of the night came when Alyssa literally had to help catch the bride as she came in from the fire escape.

After the indoor shots, we headed outside to take photos in the city. Unfortunately my phone died but we’ll be sharing the pro photos when we get them from Meghan. We’re all so, so excited about this shoot!
